Hans enjoyed playing the accordion, he was called “Hans, the Accordion Man”. We made several tapes of his music. He entertained King Olaf of Norway. He also entertained at Vesterheim Museum in Decorah and on his trips back to Norway, he entertained on board ship. Hans and Marie moved on to the Lynne farm in 1917. In 1925 they had a new house built with "all the modern conveniences”. Son, Harold and his wife Ann, reside there now and continue to improve the farm. We all enjoy going back home, it is beautiful. As we were growing up, we had a player piano. The neighbor children came and we played and sang songs. We have many good memories of our childhood. We were members of Washington Prairie Lutheran Church where Rev. Paul Koren was the pastor. Rev. Koren baptized and confirmed all of us. Anna, Thelma, Palma, Lucille, Agnes and several grandchildren were married there. We attended Sunday School there. During the summer we had several weeks of Bible School in the Lynne School with Marie Hegg as teacher. We lived about a block from the school, so we were always in a hurry to leave because we usually had a ball game going. Hans and Marie moved into Decorah in 1948. In 1974 they entered the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah where they passed away - Marie in Feb 1975 and Hans in May 1976. They are laid to rest in the Washington Prairie Cemetery. A-44
